DOCUMENTARIES

Working on the documentary film form is the main activity of anemiCinema . Documentary is for us the cinematic genre in which filmmaker's view is identified with the eye of the camera .

ΕΠΙΣΤΡΟΦΗ ΣΤΗ ΓΗ   BACK TO EARTH

Hector Mavridis is a ceramist. Dedicated in recent years to his ongoing work "Clods", he

explores the imprint of the primordial form in public space. The clods he collects from the

plowed fields are his raw material. Their shape, the smell of wet soil are evoking memories. He

observes them, touches them. Wants to transform them. He works with fire, water, time; his

body transfers the energy and his soul the inner blue color. Now the clods become weightless,

hovering over the wheatfield along with memories and a piece of their creator's identity,

Hector.

AN ABRUPT AWAKENING

That April morning was an abrupt awakening for everyone in Greece. Many years after, my father kept saying that he did not wish to wake up again in a morning like that, and listen to that song in the radio... "poulia mou diavatarika"… and other folk songs, όπως το πρωί της 21ης Απρίλη του 1967…

There have been a lot said and written about the seven years of dictatorship in Greece, as well as about the movement of resistance organized by common people. Even though it is not wide spread, the first resistance actions took place in Thessaloniki.

The idea to film the personal testimonies of ordinary people fighting against dictotorship was born through the lines of Anagnostakis' poem "The Greatness of Everyday Life".

A serie of four documentaries, that last 50' each. The episodes includes interviews with people who faced the time of the dictatorship in Greece.

The serie was shown in the Greek National Tv ERT the spring of 2017.

Directed and script by Chryssa Tzelepi and Akis Kersanidis

 CHRONICLE OF AN EXTERMINATION

Chortiatis is one of the many sacrificed villages during the World War II German Occupation in Greece.

This documentary tries to "recreate" the Holocaust of Chortiatis through testimonies of the people who experienced the events and signify the importance of keeping historical memory alive. The story is composed through pieces of official historical sources, different perspectives of the facts and personal experience of everyday people. Experienced history gives another dimention to historical facts.

ENRAGED DECEMBER

What was the uprising of December 2008? Who were the social subjects that participated? What were the causes and how will it affect the future of socio-political demands in Greece? All these questions are trying to find answers in the documentary Enraged December which was filmed by a group of people who met in Thessaloniki during the first days following the murder of Alexandros Grigoropoulos (6th December 2008) in Athens. The film attempts to describe the chronicle of revolt through the eyes of those who participated in the mobilizations during the first three highly charged weeks.
