ZAGORIWOOD

In the mountains of Epirus for the first time in Greece it is created a cinema Village-Network lab. The central philosophy is  "1 person + 1 camera + 1 computer = a completed production unit that is needed for the creation of an audiovisual project". 'Zagoriwood lab' started in 2010, in Zagorochoria, Epirus, based on the village of Kato Pedina. Young filmmakers and young people who love cinema from all over Greece, are taught the secrets and techniques of audiovisual narration by experienced professionals not only in theory but in making films. In the years that followed, "ZAGORIWOOD" as it was called, became a pole of attraction for well known Greek filmmakers who presented their new films to the audience for the first time before they even travel to international festivals and halls and hold workshops at the same time in the section "Migle" . Among them: George Tsemperopoulos, Nikos Perakis, Stella Theodoraki, Thanos Anastopoulos, Akis Kersanidis, Kleanthis Danopoulos, Petros Sevastikoglou, Margarita Manta, Nikos Panagiotopoulos, Argyris Theos, Chryssa Tzelepi, Dim. Koutsiabasakos, Alexis Grapsas, Elisavet Chronopoulou, Dimitris Athanitis, Argyris Papadimitropoulos and others.

AnemiCinema has been actively involved in organizing the ZAGORIWOOD cinema lab since its inception. Our belief that art can be born everywhere led us to this choice.Interaction with nature and the people in the mountains of Epirus. The natural and anthropogenic environments are an incredible platform for the creation of audiovisual works and also a fantastic workplace.
