In the mountains of Epirus, for the first time in Greece, a CINEMA VILLAGE-NETWORK.

With the central philosophy of "1 person + 1 camera + 1 computer = a complete audiovisual work creation unit", the Film Workshop was launched in 2010 in the Zagorochoria of Epirus, based in the village of Kato Pedina. Young filmmakers and young people who love cinema from all over Greece are taught the secrets and techniques of audiovisual storytelling by experienced professionals, not just in theory but by making films.

In the years that followed, “ZAGORIWOOD” as the event came to be known, became a magnet for renowned Greek filmmakers who present their new films to the public for the first time before they travel to international festivals and theaters and hold workshops in the parallel program “Meetings” . Among them: Giorgos Tsemberopoulos, Nikos Perakis, Stella Theodoraki, Thanos Anastopoulos, Akis Kersanidis, Kleanthis Danopoulos, Petros Sevastikoglou, Margarita Manta, Nikos Panagiotopoulos, Argyris Theos, Chrysa Tzelepi, Dim. Koutsiambasakos, Alexis Grapsas, Elisavet Chronopoulou, Dimitris Athanitis, Argyris Papadimitropoulos, etc.

anemiCinema has been actively participating in the organization of the ZAGORIWOOD mountain film workshop since its inception.

Our belief that art can be born anywhere led us to this choice. The contact with nature and the people of the mountains of Epirus, the natural and man-made environment constitute an incredible plateau for the creation of audiovisual works and also a fantastic workspace.
